Use our simple step-by-step Fit Finder to get accurate measurements for your drapes and roman shades. All you need is a measuring tape.

Roman Shades

Rod Measurements

Measure the width of the area you would like to cover. This is your ordering width (fullness is already accounted for).

Measure the length of the curtain rod

Measure the height of the curtain rod

Note: Measure from the bottom of the curtain rod rings down to the floor.

Window Measurements

Measure the width of the area you would like to cover. This is your ordering width (fullness is already accounted for).

Measure the width of your window

Note: Measure the distance between the outer edges of the window frame or molding.

How far will the drapes extend
past your window on either side?

We recommend extending your drapes from 6”-12” on each side.

Why? It creates the illusion that your window is larger and maximizes light when your drapes are open.

Window Measurements

Measure the height from the top of your
window frame to the floor

Measure the height from the top of your window
frame to the bottom of where your curtain rings will hang.

For our rods, allow 3½" in height on your wall for the
brackets to be properly mounted.

We recommend mounting the curtain rod at least 6”-8” above the window frame or molding.

Tip: To add even more visual height to the room and for a dramatic look, mount the rod close to the ceiling.

Do you want double or single panels?

Single Panel

Covers the entire span of the window, or serves as a decorative stationary panel. Recommended for small or narrow windows

Double Panels

Two equal panels that can be drawn open to either side of the window, or closed in the center. Recommended for standard and wide windows.

Note: When selecting Double Panels, measure your window normally in our Fit Finder. The total width you specify will automatically be divided in two.

How would you like your drapes to fall?

Tailored

Hitting 1” above the floor offers a streamlined look.

Lived In

Just touching the floor creates a modern look.

Romantic

Having a 1” puddle on the floor creates a romantic look.

How would you like to install your shades?

Inside of the window frame

Recommended for a sleek and streamlined look; highlights attractive molding.

Window trim must be at least 1½" deep for proper installation.

Outside of the window frame

Makes windows appear larger.

Inside Mount Window Measurements

Measure the width of your window

Measure the distance between the inner edges of the window frame.

Measure the height of your window

Measure the distance between the inner edges of the window frame.

Outside Mount Window Measurements

Measure the width of your window

Measure the distance between the outer edges of the window frame

How far will the shade extend past the
outer edge of your window frame on each side?

Tip: We recommend shades extend at least 1” on each side for greater light control.

Outside Mount Additional Measurements

Measure the height of your window

Measure the distance between the outer edges of the window frame

How far above your window frame will
you mount the shade?

When the shade is completely raised, it will cover about 10”-12” of the window.

Tip: That’s why we recommend installing it at least 10”-12” above the window frame if possible so it doesn’t block your view.
